EBOLA: Doctors without Borders? Or, Doctors without a Clue?

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Doctors without a Clue?
One of the dumbest things that has ever been seen is when they, Obama and his clueless Medical Director, allowed Ebola patients and staff from Doctors without Borders back into the US and Europe without making them wait a three week quarantine period elsewhere. They could have rented a boat, or old yacht, put all the necessary medical lab equipment there, or in another boat close by, and have them stay there for 3 to 6 weeks before unnecessarily endangering all of America and Europe.

Apparently, Doctors with Borders have not heard of "Preventative Medicine" and should be called Doctors without a Clue.

Risk of Tranmission != Cost of Failure
While the risk of transmission is low, the Cost of failure is extremely high and very time-consuming. Moreover, in engineering, there is this term called Factor of Safety built into, for example, bridges that are built to be like five times stronger than necessary.

In regards to say computers and hard drives, while the risk of a hard drive failure is low, the cost is high. Hence, it is always recommended to back up your data even those the risk of failure is low.

In regards to hurricanes and Atlantic storms, the Netherlands and New Orleans has multiple layers of flood protection and barriers because the cost is high, but the risk is low. e.g. a 100 or 500yr storm is very "infrequent" but the cost is very high.

Have these Doctors without Borders ever heard of Risk vs. Reward ratio? Or in this case Risk versus Failure Ratio?

Preventing an Epidemic vs Declaring an Epidemic
The strategy is to PREVENT an EPIDEMIC. The strategy should not be to count Ebola infections inside America before "declaring" an actually epidemic. See the difference?

Rewarding Dictators And Corrupt Governments
Didn't Socialists say they are saving lives and doing it for the "good" of the people? Yet, those Doctors without Borders are long-term, rewarding dictators and bad governments and their bad government policies with free healthcare services and in the name of "we are doing it for the good of the people".

Doctors without Borders say,
"Hey Dictator, don't worry about running the government properly or being corrupt, we Doctors without Borders will always give your people FREE healthcare no matter how many bad and short-sighted policies you implement with your government or evil deeds you do in secret. You keep running your country into the ground, and we'll keep giving you free stuff from healthcare to food to pick you back up."

Risk of Transmission != Cost of Failure
(TRAVELING INTO AFRICA)
Why not allow Aid workers to go to Africa as needed and also record who goes?

(TRAVELING OUT OF AFRICA)
Yet, those traveling out of Africa must be checked and also quarantined somewhere safe on a ship for X number of days BEFORE entering any other country or allowed to go into the public. Plus traveling out of Africa they must state who, where, friends met, etc...a detailed background check...this can be done while they are quarantined. Then after they arrive, they must again be checked.

Aside. Ever heard of Ellis Island? The place where immigrants to America had to stay and were quarantined before entering the mainland. Well, if the Doctors without Borders can get a Clue, perhaps they can do the same as they did with Ellis Island except with a small island, yacht, or small ship.
